The participants were involved in preparations even before the Youth Summit began. They produced, for example, the film “Send Samauma’s Call around the world”, which linked in with the Brazilian film “Samauma’s Call” from COP8 in Curitiba.

This 6-minute video clip presents the natural beauty of the Amazon rainforests of Brazil and the acute threat that is posed to the area, as well as the response of the participants. They took up the “call” (symbolised by a knocking rhythm) in their own country and shot some similar short film sequences. The call is an appeal to each and every one of us to take joint responsibility for this unique natural and cultural space.
