After the intensive, ten-day programme in the International Wilderness Camp, the young experts and novice artists presented the results of their work from 26 to 30 May 2008 in Bonn. Their audience were the delegates of the UN Conference and interested members of the public. In the dance theater ”Go4BioDiv!” the young people explored their personal experiences of biodiversity as it affects their everyday lives.
They also unveiled their glass artworks “Puzzle of Biodiv and Flying Foodprint” and, having already photographed suitable subject matter in their home countries, used the photo exhibition and broschure „Unity in diversity: my environment and me“ to put across their individual points of view on the subject of biological diversity. They discussed their points of view and proposed solutions with prominent guests. The film “Send Samaumas Call around the World” continued the main theme of the evocative short film produced for the last Conference of the Parties.
The International Youth Forum was also represented at the “Expo of Diversity” that accompanied the UN Conference. Here traditional dwellings, such as the Mongolian ger and the Siberian conical tent, provided an unusual setting for an interesting and varied programme.
The young people participating in the International Youth Forum stayed with host families in Bonn. There they were able to discuss their views and their experiences in the Wilderness Camp with their peers and learn about life in Bonn and German perspectives.
