What are the specific problems and threats of your WHS?

The main problems in the Rio Platano Biosphere include: debris, changing land use, land market, loss of wildlife and pollution of the lagoons.

Why do you think is it important to safeguard your WHS?

It is important to ensure the life of indigenous peoples, as well as the need to prepare for climate change. Another important aspect is that we can reduce global warming through carbon capture. Biological diversity is in danger of extinction, we need awareness of people to preserve animal species in danger of extinction.
