Go4BioDiv invites participation on Facebook

The pre-COP phase of Go4Biodiv includes a virtual Discussion Forum on Facebook to discuss critical issues on coastal and marine biodiversity and related issues like livelihood among youth, researchers, conservation professionals, government officials, other coastal marine experts and all those concerned about its conservation. This phase (May-September 2012) is open for the 35 selected Go4Biodiv Messengers and for the wider community.

Why should you participate? The outcomes of the discussions will be fed into the Go4BioDiv camp at Sundarbans and will be reflected in the Youth declaration and other events of Go4BioDiv during the CBD COP 11. The virtual discussion is therefore an excellent opportunity for all of us to share our views and experiences on coastal marine conservation and related livelihood issues, and to contribute towards the outcomes of the International Youth Forum Go4BioDiv. It is a good platform for the youth to share their skills and views on conservation issues and to benefit from the presence of experienced subject experts in the group. For individuals and organizations working towards biodiversity conservation as well as communication, this platform- enriched with the ideas from younger generation, will be a ‘showcase into the future of conservation’.

How will the discussion group function? The group will be a closed and moderated Discusssion group. You can search for the group “Youth for Coastal Marine Conservation@CBD COP11/ Go4Biodiv” on Facebook or click on the Facebook icon below.
