Student power is mightier than any other power in the world

Professor Kathiresan shares his experience on mangrove plantation in an estuarine area in India with the help of his young students. He remembers how his students joined hands to plant mangroves in a sparsely vegetated area, which turned into a thickly grown mangrove forest with time. In the year 2004, impact of a major natural disaster- Tsunami, was mitigated and the lives of thousands of people were saved by this mangrove forest. According to him, the student power is mightier than any other power in the World.

Dr K Kathiresan is a marine biologist, working extensively on mangroves for about 30 years. He is currently a Professor at Center of Advance Study in Marine Biology at Annamalai University in India.
